Does anyone have the definitive edition or special edition of this? Are the features good?

Does anyone have the definitive edition or special edition of this? Are the features good? I got a loan of the special edition ages ago. From memory, there's a load of features about the making of, special effects and so on. There's plenty footage of interviews with the cast - it's funny hearing them talking about how they'd all be trying to do more weights than the others It's worth picking up. You can probably get it quite cheap now.

They even casted a monkey as the Predator at one time and wanted the monkey to do the jumping through the trees scenes. Unfortunately when they put the monkey into the red suit he was too imbarassed to perform and hid in the tree and wouldn't move. I heard that the reason for the departure of Jean-Claude Van Damme from the movie was because he didn't want his face covered through the whole movie.
The Spec. Ed. of this movie is awesome. I am so glad that they decided to shy away from their original vision of the alien in Predator.
Has anyone read the novel for the movie. The Predator in the book is completely different from the one in the movie. The book Predator is more of a formless life form that can possess the animals in the forest by looking at them and "touching" them with it's mind. As a whole the book is quite different from the movie. Both are equally good though.

What I love is that the rap includes the Alan Silvestri score. That and the quotes. The only thing I think is missing is "Stick around!"

Someone needs to create a Commando rap like this one, that would be awesome.

Indeed! we now have Predator rap, and two Star Wars raps, so a Commando rap would be awesome! The only sad thing about this movie is that the cast didn't become a repertoire company and go on making movies together. I guess the same could be said for Commando.Kind of like an action rat pack? that would have been ace!

Kind of like an action rat pack? that would have been ace! If you think about it, Bill Duke and Arnie worked together before Predator in Commando, and Bill Duke and Carl Weathers worked together again in Action Jackson. And of course Arnie and Jessie Ventura would work together on 2 more films after Predator. But I don't think any 3 of the squad ever worked together again. What a shame.
