The Warriors may be a camp conceptual ballet choreographer's vision of street life, but it still rocks the bells. The names, the music, the design, the simple story (and don't forget those jackets) are flick knife sharp. Why don't gangs this uber kuhl exist anymore? Because they never did, or can't you remember that, old maaaan?
On the train journey home, contrast the affluent optimism of the young couples, laughing with flowers after the big show, with the filthy, bedraggled and hopeless ghetto pride of Swan and his desperate squeeze. Only one side of the carriage looks embarrassed, and it ain't the Warriors, baby.
Makes me wanna rumble in slo-mo on roller skates.

I had never even heard of this movie until the summer of 2005, when I was a new recruit on Commando Fans. A friend of mine let me borrow it & it's become a favourite of mine. I own the ultimate edition DVD as well as the barebones disc just so I can have the classic version to watch.
A hell of a bad ass flick. Ajax is my favourite Warrior. Always has & always will be. James Remar is the king of getting arrested & clubbed by Irwin Keyes.

A knife to a gunfight. Swan is a bad ass & true leader.
I want a Cleon head dress.

One of my absolute favorite 70's pictures. Sully is once again another great wormy character.
Cleon's death is one of the saddest things I've seen in movies.

Cleon's death is one of the saddest things I've seen in movies. It's not really confirmed that he died but he definitely didn't make it. With Cyrus' death just mere moments before, you know those Riffs elbowed Cleon to death. 'Tis a shame though because I would've enjoyed seeing him bust some heads on the way back to Coney. A true bad ass.

Great film, I love the scene with The Orphans, the warriors take the piss out of those 'lame toys'!

How could it be a big meeting if the Orphans weren't invited

The PS2 game really does this classic justice, letting you live the atmosphere, the tension and the characters. You get to wail on toys and wimps in real time - can you dig it, suckers?

The Warriors video game is fun as hell. I spent many hours playing it. It's nice that it has a lot of Cleon in it too. Playing as Ajax was probably my favourite part.
James Remar = God
