An underrated movie that deserves its own thread apart from the other Halloween films since it has nothing to do with them. Once upon a time when I was a dumb kid, I hated everything about this movie. Then I became a teenager & started to slowly appreciate how rad of a movie it was/is. And today, I love it even more than ever. Killing kids on Halloween with masks is fucked up. It's sick. It's morbid. It's taboo. It works, well at least in my opinion. Atkins & the late Dan O'Herlihy really shined in this movie. It's not Citizen Kane or Ernest Goes to Jail but it's a fun, underrated, & under appreciated little slice of Nurse Karen's 1980s pie. It's written off as shit immediately when people see that it doesn't feature Michael Myers. And like I've said 1000 times before, that whole argument is irrelevant to me. If people watch it & give it a fair chance then deem it a bad movie, then that's fine. STOP ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!

This one is quite possibly my favorite in the entire series. It's pretty much neck and neck with the first one for me. Tom Atkins's performance is top notch. Gotta love that catchy jingle too! Happy happy Halloween, Halloween, Halloween! Happy happy Halloween, Silver Shamrock!

I loved this since I was young and I still do. The use of music in this film is fantastic, it gives the film such a great atmosphere.
Daft as a brush, but I can`t help but really enjoy.

What a fantastically terrible movie. You KNOW it's going to be something memorable when you see a title screen like this: Here's a great rundown of all the highlights of the movie. www.i-mockery.com/minimocks/halloween3/

I was always fond of Tom Adkins mask throwing in this, very accurate to say the least.

Watched Season of the Witch, for the first time, a couple of months ago, and I thought it was a very entertaining movie. Suspense all the way, right to the end. And that creepy minimalistic soundtrack, did a fine job, to help create an even more unpleasing atmosphere throughout the story. This movie reminded me alot of the Phantasm movies, and some of David Cronenberg's older films.

In October it will be released in Scandinavia by Another World Entertainment. They have always been great with picture and sound quality, plus adding lots of bonus material to many hard-to-find cult and classic b-movies so really I hope that "Halloween 3: Season of the Witch" will get a nice treatment.
Saw it a couple of days ago and I love the eerie doomsday feeling it have going right from the start.
Dan O' Herlihy did an amazing job as the evil Conal Cochran. Favorite scene from "Halloween 3: Season of the Witch" is where he tells us about his plans for the upcoming Halloween night.
"Halloween... the festival of Samhain! The last great one took place three thousand years ago, when the hills ran red... with the blood of animals and children."
More horror movies and thrillers should use synths these days. I'm sick of orchestral chamber music.
The main theme and the end theme in "Season of the Witch" stands out as some of the best work John Carpenter ever did.

Great to see ya back, Mac. Its sad how underrated Halloween III is. Seems like "everyone" keeps bashing and label it the "worst movie of all time", but when the critics are questioned about the movie itself/story etc, many of them seem to admit that they haven't seen it, just heard its the one that doesen't include Michael Myers.

I will be getting the Blu-rays of both II and III although I do own the Universal release of II that came out last year. Anchor Bay also put out 4 & 5 on Blu a few weeks back. So really the whole series is out now since Miramax/Echo Bridge(I think) put out Curse, H20, and Resurrection on Blu.

The Scandinavian 2012 DVD release of Halloween III did not have any special features besides some trailers of other films, subtitles and a short picture show from the film itself.
But the sound and picture was better than the 2003 Universal DVD version. Next stop is the Shout! Factory DVD release, the Blu-Ray version won't work on my Blu-Ray player.

The Shout!/Scream Factory Blu-ray owns. So does the new Blu-ray for Halloween II. 4 & 5 are decent but not worth an upgrade unless you can find them for cheap.

Kimble, are there any subtitles on the Blu-Ray of Halloween III? That is my only complaint when it comes to Shout! Factory releases, none of the Roger Corman's Cult Classic has included subtitles.
From what I have read on the net there is only good things about the new Blu-Ray version, but I guess the DVD also have the same bonus stuff too and maybe the poster included if ordered from Shout! Factory.
