I dragged my old man to it second time as well, he seemed to be impressed.
Going to see it for a third, and probably final time, tomorrow.
At least until it comes out on DVD!

Got this off Wikipedia but I'm sure it's correct:
The DVD and Blu-Ray editions are set to be released in the U.S. on May 27th, 2008. The DVD will be in 1 and 2 disc editions. Both will have a 2.35 anamorphic widescreen presentation and a 5.1. Dolby Digital track. The Blu-Ray will have 5.1 Dolby Digital EX and DTS HD 7.1 Tracks. The 2 disc DVD and the Blu-Ray will have a digital copy of the film. There will also be a 6 disc DVD set of all four Rambo films, packaged in a limited edition Tin case, and over 20 bonus features.
The DVD will be mine because that's when I'll finally be able to see Rambo. The 6 disc set is tempting but I'm not sure yet.

Needless to say that Rambo will provide some serious competition to any other film wishing to take away its mantlepiece as being the best film of 2008 thus far.
I went and saw this the day it was released here in Australia with my best mate who, for some un-bloody-known reason, thought that it would be a great idea to bring his shy, prim and proper girlfriend along for the ride.
She had her head buried in his shoulder as soon as the opening rice paddy race scene finished with the mine explosion. I thought to myself "poor girl has to endure another 92 minutes of this because of that idiot". Upon the conclusion of the final battle sequence, the girl was pretty much left catatonic, dumbstruck by the insane amount of violence that she'd just been privy to.
To anyone that's asked me what Rambo was like, the conversation has always proceeded as such:
Friend: What was Rambo like? Me: It's brilliant! Unbelievably violent! Friend: Really? How bad is the violence? Me: Seen "Saving Private Ryan"? Friend: Yeh. Me: First fifteen minutes on the beach? Friend: Yeh? (with trepidation) Me: Rambo is like that, taken to the next level, and for 90 minutes. Friend: *raises eyebrows*
The mercenary team is brilliant. The Asian guy (En-Joo, I think the character's name was) and the Brit were brilliant.
Top movie. Can't wait for the DVD release - hopefully with a fair few extras.

He really picked the perfect date movie. There's nothing more romantic than watch sixty year old man murder people in lovely brutal fashion I love the new Rambo movie more than Bennett loves the cock

I'm sure it was the romantic evening that she'd envisaged until the opening credits started rolling and she realised what he was going to subject her to.
It was so funny because my mate is a bit of an action afficionado as well and really wanted to laugh and cheer during certain sequences but had to restrain himself to save face in front of his girlfriend. So whilst I was laughing my arse off at Rambo tearing that soldier's throat out with his bare hands, he was there subtly pumping his fist during that scene making sure his girlfriend didn't see.
Upon exiting the theatre, she said that she thought the film was "scary". While I don't really find any movies scary per se, I do draw a distinction between violence and scariness in a film. Rambo was merely violent, not scary.

Perhaps the same people that JCVD dealt with in Nowhere to Run have moved in on Senor Rambo's territory, and Johnny came marching home just in time.

"Dip-lo-mat-tic immun-it-teee!!!"It'd be quite strange to actually see a Rambo sequel with a low body count. All of the additions to the series have been complete bloodbaths; I can't imagine another Rambo with fewer bodies than the mansion from Phantasm.

Saw this on amazon.com, the new Rambo Complete Collector's set. I think it's about 40 bucks. I paid 15 for the trilogy. After that if Stallone makes another Rambo, they will probably come out with the Rambo Ultra Complete Collector's set with 5 movies. What a bunch of greedy asswipes.(Sigh) Looks pretty cool. Though I am pretty happy with my trilogy and just getting "Rambo" separately.

Rambo V filmimg in Bulgaria this year..... The movie's going to be set in Arizona and some old Van Damme sets from The Shepherd will be used to simulate an American town. www.moviehole.net/news/20080322_rambo_will_return_to_america.htmlI'm hoping that this report is accurate. There have been some conflicting pieces as to whether or not there will be a fifth Rambo film since the most recent one was released. The producers of Rambo say that there will be another sequel but Stallone has denied this. Fingers crossed that Stallone has enough in him for one final outing as the iconic John Rambo.

I finally watched this yesterday & I loved every minute of it. Brutal & violent as all fucking hell. They established the plot & from there, chaos chaos chaos. It was good to have Sly back with his bandana on & ready to rock. The score was well-done & worked very well despite Jerry Goldsmith not being around for this one. I do believe most of the effects were practical but I'm sure there was some CGI but I didn't really notice too much.
The most satisfying part is when Rambo rises silently & smoothly behind the soldier & decapitates him, which leads into the huge massacre at the end.
Lightning struck twice for Sly since this & Rocky Balboa were both really well-done. Bring on Rambo V!

I read over on IMDb that Rambo made over $18 million on it's first week on dvd and that the new Rambo box set also went into the top five box set chart. Fucking nice one. Proof positive that action doesn't need to pander to the PG-13 demographic in order to make a profit. Rambo V's got to be a sure bet now. Stallone is officially the Father, Son and Holy Ghost of the action genre.

I found a new up & coming Rambo board on the net that is ran by a pal of mine & he's not a total nutjob like our pal Jay Rambo. Its main focus is the Rambo series. Take a peak & sign up. I'm a member over there as well. Of course, I'll still be here like always. www.firstbloodforum.tk

This is the single best movie ever!!! I flew to New York to see it before release in the UK. Then saw it 4 more times when it came out over here. Sly could not have done it better. I was, errrrrr, a big Rambo fan when i was growing up Much better than the vomit inducing return of Rocky...
