Jan Hammer - Gina www.imeem.com/bobabeard/music/xoZtFrim/jan_hammer_gina/A very beautiful song. Jan made so much good music that was and is still to date unreleased, its a shame. Everytime i hear people talk about the music from Miami Vice, its either that scene with Phil Collins music in the background, Tina Turner or U2, but i think it was Jans music that really set the tone for the whole show. I read somehwere that Jan made almost 20-35 minutes of music every week, and very much of it was included in the show.

King Crimson - Larks tongues in aspic part 2
"Boom-Craaash-paaang"
One of Crimsons most powerful and haunting songs. A great song to end an almost perfect album. It sure does give the listener a hint of whats coming next.
Somehow David Cross violin in this song reminds me alot of Jerry Goldsmiths Theme for Total Recall.

Lately Ive been almost obsessed with the music by Jerry Goldsmith, in Psycho 2. Especially the main theme. It is sad, but also very beautiful. Always liked the sequels, and the second one, stands out as a very good one. Loved the characters played by Robert Loggia and Dennis Franz, plus the haunting music by Goldsmith. When it comes to the main theme, I wish there was a longer version of it, maybe about 3 or 4 minutes long.
Here it is, mixed with a fine tribute to Carrie.

Forever Now was a great 80's album that included some of The Psychedelic Furs finest moments.

One of their many pop treasures. And how about Colin Moulding's hilariously great bass playing?

Turbo may not have a great reputation but if you take a closer look it contains some great Priest tunes.

I have been hooked on Genesis 1980 release of Duke and still to my great surprise it holds up very well and I think of it as their finest album since Selling England by the Pound from 1973.
As with Rush on their early 80s material Genesis made a fantastic combination of mixing good pop songs with longer prog tunes without ever a weak or boring moment.
