What a classic example of a good horror anthology. One of those little treasured 80s horror series' that didn't have anything to do with Cannon.
My favorite is easily part VI, which is unfortunately HEAVILY cut on dvd. I rented it years ago on VHS with a friend and it was luckily the uncut version, with a pissload of gore and a proper death-showing for the boss from Weekend At Bernie's.
Anyone know if the uncut version is on any of the dvd's?

I think you mean Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. Terry Kiser plays Dr. Crews in it. Part VII was never released uncut anywhere. The MPAA had a ballgame with this one when it came to cutting footage & gore. Some of the cut scenes are available on the Friday the 13th box set that came out a few years ago. John Carl Buechler has the footage on a VHS tape, I believe.

Oh, right, it's part VII that I meant. I at least found a version with more violence before they re-released the DVD's with a greasy, spooky cover. I was in great disappointment however to see how horribly cut the film was--easily the least violent of the series, but I still remember seeing a lesser-cut version with more hits in the sleeping bag kill. Maybe I should jsut get the box set.

I'm not in any particular hurry to see it again but I thought it was quite fun, more fun than most horror movies this decade anyway.

It is a shit sandwich. My friend and I went and saw it in the theater just to laugh, and laugh we did. We were annoying the piss out of the high schoolers in front of us but it was OK. It was past their bedtimes anyways.

I plan on getting the first three re-releases sometime after they come out..but am just getting them on plain DVD since I'm not into Blu-ray. Can't afford it yet.
The UK covers for those are butt ugly. Looks like Saw-inspired cheap photoshopped shit.
4-6 are also going to get re-released. I believe sometime in the summer.

I haven't seen these in a while, but they are all excellent execpt for Jason Takes Manhattan. Looking foward to the new DVD's, hopefully what Kimble said was true about 4-6 getting re-released, hopefully 7 will as well.
As for the remake, I will skip it, the Halloween remake was bad enough, so I don't think I can take anymore shitty horror remakes.

I have all the movies apart from Part VII and Jason X I'm not bothered about J X and i haven't even seen it yet, but I'll be picking up Part VII shortly. Its a really good series of movies and I'm probably going to go and see the remake at the cinema when its released in the U.K
I didn't think the Halloween remake was that bad, understandably its not as good as the original but i enjoyed the movie.

I just felt that Rob Zombie modernized the franchise too much and made it as he wanted it to be like his other films.
