I caught this today and what a piece of shit this film was.
I found it so charmless, but most of all I found myself so bored during the majority of it. I couldn`t care less about any of the characters`s if I tried and the dialog is nothing but irritating.
The Tarantino that wrote such great films as True Romance has vanished for good by the look`s of this crap.

I heard this one had no real action in it, until right at the end, with that car chase which Tarantino wanted to do WITHOUT any CGI.
Is that any good?

The car chase was nothing special if i recall. A lot like the rest of the film then.
Planet Terror was at least pretty entertaining.

It was so so at best, not as bad as the one from Urban Justice though. ;D

I've had Death Proof & Planet Terror for awhile but haven't watched either yet. Out of the two, people seem to like Planet Terror more.

I really like this movie--great throwback to the old exploitation car chase films of the 70s. Only problem is taht it was Tarantino trying to do more showing that he can write good dialogue. It's just full of talk cuz that's what Tarantino likes to do, and it doesn't really have a full pace. However, it does have Kurt Russell as the awesome villain, an excellent car chase at the end, and that super cool car Russell drives.

Tarantino is over-rated anyway. Hasn't made a decent movie in any shape or form since the mid-nineties (don't want to sound too ungrateful - making Pulp Fiction helps atone for a lot ) There was a rumour (probably just internet bullshit) that he was going to make a film called Inglorious Bastards that would have Arnie, Sly and Willis in it. Why didn't he make that instead of Kill Bill?... I mean, Jesus. Kill Bill - an okay movie split up into to piss 'volumes'. I'd have made the Arnie/Sly/Willis one myself...

Kill Bill is good movie. It could've been so much better, if Sonny Chiba would've been the leading actor. ''I'm gonna kill Bill, but first I'm gonna rip his balls off with my bare hands''

I think he's had about 50 movies in the pipeline during his none too prolific last ten years. I wouldn't count on ever seeing Inglorious Bastards. (Mind you I said the same thing about new Rockys/Rambos/DieHards/Indys)

Tarantino's disappeared up his own fat ass.
He's had his high points but I never really cared for his snappy, pop culture style of dialogue which is why I probably like Jackie Brown most out of all his flicks.
The only time over the last 31 years when I stood up and walked out on a movie was Kill Bill. I gave it about an hour and couldn't take it anymore. Haven't bothered watching it or Kill Bill 2 since.
Didn't like Death Proof either and Planet Terror was only slightly more enjoyable.

Say what you want about Death Proof, but if 'Machete' isn't the second best film of the year (after Rambo 4 obviously) then i'll eat my own scrotum in a roll. www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8cCzltPD6YAs Rodiguez says about Trejo - "This guy should be like the Mexican Jean-Claude Van Damme or Charles Bronson, putting out a movie every year and his name should be Machete." Is Machete going to be a movie, or is it just one of those fake trailers that they put into Grindhouse? Looks ace though - Danny Trejo + minigun + motorbike = awesome

I watched this movie again over the weekend and I still absolutely love it. Kurt Russell is awesome as Stuntman Mike and just a real interesting character overall.
That one part where he slams Rose McGowan around in his car and slams the breaks so her face smashes just makes me cringe.

I thought Death Proof was pretty cool, but Kill Bill is awesome. Any movie where Daryl Hannah gets her eye ripped out is worth watching.
