I've recently acquired all nine seasons on DVD as well as the first movie(The X-Files: Fight the Future). I've been watching it a lot as of late. I'm almost finished with the fourth season. I watched it every now & then back when it first aired on Fox. I remember the fifth season the most & the movie, which I saw in theaters back in '98. Anybody else into The X-Files?

Guess I'm the only one here that's into this show. I'm almost finished with season 7. I have three more episodes to go.

I have seasons 1-7 so far. I've been getting them for $20 at a used record store. Great deal. Although I like the first seasons probably the best, I'm watching season 6 lately and there are some I haven't seen before. I especially like the one with Bruce Campbell as the Devil spreading his demon seed to unsuspecting women. ;D It's cool to watch the older ones and see some of the guest stars that were on during or before they were famous. That was a good episode. I watched it not too long ago.
I'm on season 8 as of now. John Doggett, played by the T-1000 himself Robert Patrick, has joined the cast. I like his character thus far. He's no Mulder but is a great character. ;D

I thought he did a good job "replacing" Mulder. They could of easily brought in someone who was just like him, but instead chose to create a new type of character with his own past and attitude. The final episodes of the series were kind of a let down for me, but I won't ruin it for you if you haven't seen them yet.

I pretty much know what happens in the series. I've read spoilers haha.
I like how Scully is the believer now & is getting flack for it like Mulder did. Doggett is the skeptic but a damn good character to have when it comes to having your back watched. He's a lot tougher than Mulder.
I hear Krycek gets killed in the season 8 finale. The dude is a wormy little bastard but I think he's a great character. One of my favourites of the series.

I'm slowly becoming a fan, I picked up the first movie the other day but haven't watched it yet. I don't know if Wal-Mart has the seasons on sale for $20 anymore, but I'd like to pick them up.

My local Wal-Mart has the first three seasons for $20 so perhaps yours may too. They're definitely worth it.

Did your Wal-Mart have any of the X-Files seasons?
I'm trying to get all of them in the bigger collector's edition boxsets. Some include a bonus disc with some cool features on them. And I just think they're cooler to look at. So far, I have seasons 1, 2, & 8 in the bigger boxes.
I'm on season nine now. It's only twenty episodes long spanning five discs.

Picked up Season 1 today, can't wait to get into it. My Wal-Mart also has Season 2 & 3, so I may want to pick them up soon.

You definitely should. They're worth the $20. The first two seasons are the best, in my opinion. The rest of the series is damn good too.

I remember the TV teasers BBC2 showed for the X-Files prior to their screening of Series 1. The one with yer man strolling down the "Area 51"-type warehouse full of classified oddities. I was at residential school at the time and all the sci-fi nuts were slippery with anticipation. Thursday night was X-Files night for the next couple of years.
Also remember the night our very camp head cook, Neil, wouldn't let me watch one of the big episodes owing to a personal grudge. I had mocked him on account of his lack of a sense of smell, which he was very sensitive about especially given his many failed surgeries to rectify this inadequacy. I think it was the one about Mulder's sister. A right pisser. I still resent it to this day.
I wish David Duchovny well with his sex addiction.

funny thing about that sex addiction... has anyone seen Californication? he fucks all of them. the whole cast. all the time.
I wonder if they tailored that role for him because he was known as a sex addict or he's just method.

I finished the series a few weeks ago. Gotta say it's definitely in my top five shows of all-time.
The last few seasons of The X-Files really does show how great of an actor Robert Patrick is, especially the episode entitled "Release."
