Is it me or Arnold didn't look so "large" in COMMANDO like he usually does? He looked muscular, of course, but also well-proportioned, much more defined and agile... skinnier than how he seemed in Conan and Terminator 1 (all movies previous to COMMANDO).
I always remembered Arnold as being much more "bulky" and "large" in COMMANDO, now that I have re-watched it... It's not so!
It makes sense, even, since MATRIX is supposed to be an hunter and a runner, not just a gianteous war machine.

Indeed I do see what you're talking about, but I honestly think it was because he wore more clothes in this than alot of his other films. Like in the end of Predator when he's mudded up and ready for war, Oak looked like the Incredible Hulk.
In Commando, he wore alot of clothes, as opposed to Conan and such, except at the end when he bursts from the toolshed. The muscles suddenly seem as if they double in size.

I saw those green shirts and beige pants in Sears when I was in California last year.
I should have bought them but I would have ended up looking like a skinny sunburned John Matrix.

No I'm referring to the scenes when Matrix is COMMANDO, and he doesn't wear the military vest... just chest naked. he doesn't look so large.

Strudel's body looked like a pack of tiger-striped tumors. Can someone tell me why Schwarzenegger is sometimes refered to as Strudel?

Strudel's body looked like a pack of tiger-striped tumors. Can someone tell me why Schwarzenegger is sometimes refered to as Strudel? It's a running joke from waaaay back, from before you joined. One of the board members (Voelkermord?) and his friends call him Strudel because they saw an interview with him once where he was asked if he was a 'proper American' - he replied "I'm as American as Apple Strudel!" At least, that's my memory of it...

Yes, I do believe it traces its history back to Voelkermord. I remember him saying something about it some time ago. Something hilarious that has stuck.

This thread`s starting to sound like something Bennett would get off on. The Oak was definitely a bit more lean (is that the word?) in this film.

Can someone tell me why Schwarzenegger is sometimes refered to as Strudel? Yes, that was from me. It is derived from a skit on the TV show Saturday Night Live. There was a rumor going around that Arnold wanted to run for President of the United States (this was long before he became governor of California) so the show decided to satirize it. They had Darrell Hammond dressed up as The Oak and he was going off about how he would be a good leader, bla bla bla. Tine Fey says "Well actually Arnold, you couldn't run for President because you weren't born an American citizen." He says "Vat are you taaahhlkeeeng abaut? I am as American as Apple Strudel". Strudel has been synonymous with Arnold ever since.
