The '80s sure ruled and it was also the decade of Chuck Norris as a bona fide leading action hero. See my avi.

I have never understood the universal "hatred" for Phil Collins and his music. The man was a musical genius and a fantastic drummer and the only one beside maybe Madonna who could be seen as a real threat to Michael Jackson's domination in the 80s. By the 90s "everybody" seemed to take a shoot at Phil and portray him like the devil of music. But in the last decade there seem to have been quite an Phil Collins revival going on with films like American Psycho or Video Games such as GTA Vice City: Stories helped him reach a new generation of fans and at the same time win over many of his older critics who now suddenly thinks highly of his music and legacy. I was once a bit critical of Genesis after Peter Gabriel left, maybe cause I only knew them by We Can't Dance and my love for their earlier more prog dominated stuff but that changed after listening to Duke as it was probably the groups finest hour since the classic Selling England by the Pound. As for Phil Collins solo material I have always held his 80s classic No Jacket Required as his finest achievement. A great pop album filled up with catchy songs where some of them would later pop up in some of the most memorable moments in Miami Vice.
