This Christmas my grandmother bought me the Rush album 'Signals.' It's a pretty kickass synthesizer-era record in the middle of Rush's career. I plan on getting Fly By Night next or perhaps Snakes and Arrows so I can catch up on some listening.
Come to think of it, I still have my old cassette tape of Moving Pictures lying around here somewhere. Gotta find that thing and hear it again--it's been months.

Been awhile since last time I visited this thread. Since then I have gotten into a lot of the earlier Ultravox!/John Foxx stuff, from the mid 70's to the early 80's. Some fantastic songs and albums they did between 76-78. I like the Bowie, Velvet, Kraftwerk and Roxy influence on their first album. It was well put together and produced by Brian Eno. The second one, was a bit more different, but it includes their finest moment, Hiroshima Mon Amour. Their last record, Systems of Romance, is not only their best work, but it is also one of the greatest synth albums of all time. The record is breathtaking, and still sounds light years ahead. Anyone into OMD, Depeche Mode, Throbbing Gristle, or Gary Numan, should get their hands on the 2006 re masters of their three first albums, which also includes bonus tracks, live tracks, and some interesting reading about the band, and their legacy, before they split up, and came back as Ultravox, but with Midge Ure in lead, not John Foxx. I recommend anyone that is into 80's synth to check out John's solo albums. Metamatic and The Garden should be a great place to start, if one may be interested. Some of their finest tunes, both from Ultravox! and John Foxx: Hiroshima Mon Amour www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3kQr4lAcsADislocation www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYNzNbwh_hASlow Motion www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NBjV95lClY&feature=relatedJust For A Moment www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsjPHRtpc9w&feature=relatedYoung Savage www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l1OX4EnGfU&feature=relatedI Want To Be A Machine www.youtube.com/watch?v=CU0IeXsadRwSlip Away www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsyFoOyfbyA&feature=relatedMy Sex www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM7DKBdzWQAPlaza www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ktykf6DKbfAMetal Beat www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHSZGOXRfQA&feature=relatedFilm One www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCoNwdiR9KA&feature=relatedEurope After The Rain www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3NGou1ZPZ0The Garden www.youtube.com/watch?v=dX6G3XwuYS8&feature=relatedSystems of Romance www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FAlC4Y8VWs&feature=related

A bit nostalgic these days and have been digging up some of my old favorite 90's instrumental dance/trance/rave tunes. They all share that dreamlike/romantic sound and I think they hold up very well when you know they where made almost 20 years ago.
Anyone else who enjoyed/enjoys dance music from the 90's?
