This is a show that follows the exploits of a fictitious metal band called Dethklok. In the process, it also brilliantly mocks the many cliches and excesses of metal as a whole. Dethklok is the world's strongest cultural force; the stock market plummets if they take too long to release an album, fans commit suicide in front of record stores if an album is delayed, and several hundred thousand people traveled to northern Norway to watch the band perform just one song which was a jingle for a coffee company. If Dethklok endorses one company, all similar companies go out of business. The bass player made disparaging remarks about The Louvre and as a result, it was burned and riots erupted all over Paris. You get the idea. The show is fucking hilarious.

You'll love it! There are a lot of references made that won't be understood by people who are not big into metal (I know this is not you) but even so, the show is amazing. Season 1 came out on DVD several months ago over here and last I heard, Season 2 is on some sort of hiatus. You used to be able to watch the episodes on Youtube but they are gone. I'm not sure if it is out in the UK...

I love this show. Dethkloks album is actually pretty good too and features Gene Hoglan on drums Voelk is right about the references, the fast food place is called Dimmu Burger, the supermarket is called Finntrolls (i think) and there are characters called Grishnackh and Mr Amarth etc... My favourite song is the epic doom/death metal stylings of 'Go Into The Water' from the last episode of series 1. Some fan made vid of it - www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpxHri5R7qM

Is it available on DVD over there?
I love Finntroll's Food Library and Burzum's.
"He blow he brain in" -"He blow he brain out" "Whatever. It make great album cover."
"I loves to laugh"
I love it in the episode with Murderface's birthday, as he is storming off and Nathan calls after him "Aww, what's wrong?" The way he says it is fucking hilarious.

I haven't seen it around. Nor have i seen it on TV, but it'd probably be on some obscure channel buried in the sky listings. I downloaded the whole first series and what's so far come out of the second.
I'll buy the DVDs as and when i see them.

I wish Season 2 would come out on DVD soon but seeing as how it's been several weeks since a new episode, it probably won't be out until around Christmas at the earliest.
I've only seen the first episode of Season 2. I really want to see the one where Ihsahn does the voice of a German fashion designer.

I just checked on Wikipedia and it says that the next episode of series 2 is to be broadcast in May. Could be writers strike related i suppose.
The fashion one is quite weird, as usual you can't really tell who's voice it is. Cleanzo (the last one shown so far) is awesome, you see that Dr. Rockso's old band was basically Van Halen and he's a parody of Diamond Dave (only he does way more cocaine)

I enjoy Dr. Rockso immensely. I've read about that episode, how he stole some ridiculous amount of blow and went in to hiding after threatening people's lives over a temporarily-misplaced banana in a state of cocaine-induced paranoia. I hear Rockso is one hideous motherfucker without makeup.

It's a classic episode, and Murderfaces attempt to write a 'Reggae Hit' are awesome. At the start, the behind the music style intro says Dr. Rockso has "A licence to rock with a permit to roll"

Christ! That is golden. A friend of mine was over until about 5am a couple weeks ago because once we started watching this, we couldn't stop and had to watch both Season 1 DVD's. She fucking loves it now and I was so goddamn tired I had to miss class the next day but it was worth it. The one where they record in the Marianas Trench is so awesome. "Hey, I got those same shoes"

I like Steve's face when he hits that "magic note" on the guitar. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTtu4Nia784
