Day of the Dead is my favorite in Romero's "Dead" series, Dawn would be a close runner up. Tom Savini's effect`s were superb in this and I don't think he's ever topped them. A vastly underrated film. And let`s not forget Rhodes getting ripped in half!

Day is definitely my favourite of the series, with what I feel is the most interesting plot and the most effective satire.
I didn't care for Land much and Diary frankly sounds awful.

Day is my second favourite after Dawn. Usually this & Night battle for the number two spot on my list but currently Day is winning. The first time I saw this on VHS over 10 years ago, I thought it was shit. A few years later I gave it another chance & liked it. Now I love it after watching it many times over the years. A friend of mine made a board dedicated to discussion of Romero's Dead Films. Check it out sometime. deadfilms.proboards84.com

This is the film in the Dead series that seems to get the "hate it at first, love it at second" response. I was the same way. It's now my second favorite film in the Dead franchise, sitting behind Night of the Living Dead. The best part of this film is hands-down Capt. Rhodes. Tough as nails and a prick to boot. Thank god that Romero hired Joe Pilato for the part. He even got the best death in movie history! Without him, I don't think that it would be my #2.

A great movie, sadly underrated, which contains some of Tom Savinis best work!

Arrow Video released this on Blu Ray recently and the film looks fucking beautiful, nothing like watching people getting ripped to shred`s in high definition. There`s a couple of great documentary`s with Joe Pilato as-well who at 60 looks like he`s just walked off the set of the film. The highlight of the Blu Ray is a Q and A with Pilato and an audience with someone asking Joe "Have you ever asked a woman to choke on `em and if you can forgive the pun how did it go down?"
