Last night I tried some MGD, which id never had before.
Its really quite nice, no additives or preservatives in either, which makes it good in my book!

I`ve recently discovered I love this stuff, it`s a beer from Belgain and it remind`s me of Stella Artois only it`s a bit more smooth.

I used to be able to get Leffe (and a host of other lovely Belgian beer) for dirt cheap when I was living in the Netherlands. About £1 a bottle, or less, if I remember right.
Only problem was I had to cycle across the city to the University to their happy hour. Try cycling home after you've had a few premium-strength Belgian beers and you'll understand how lucky I was to have not had any accidents during my time there!

I have a hard enough time walking after drinking it so I can only imagine, and I am sure biking across Eindhoven was no small feat in and of itself.
I don't drink American beer anymore. It doesn't taste good to me anymore. I started my drinking "career" with shitty Bud Light piss water and then progressed to my home state-brewed Miller products like Genuine Draft and High Life. I enjoyed Pabst Blue Ribbon a lot and the occasional Coors Light but I can't drink any of it anymore. I much prefer Stella, Heineken, Bitburger, Koenig Pilsener, Kronenbourg 1664, Leffe, Duvel, Smithwick's or the microbrews I had in Germany to American beer. I just discovered Weihenstephaner last weekend and really like that one as well. They taste infinitely better and are also much stronger than most of the shit we have over here.
Do you guys over there enjoy American beer every now and again or do you tend to stick with what is somewhat local for you?

i cant STAND bud. its the worst beer available. other than that other american beers arent that easily available, especially in pubs. you may occasionally find MGD, which is ok, but for lagers its mainly european stuff. my favourite at the moment is staropramen.

I don't really drink American beer either, though bottles of MGD are often really cheap in clubs so i'll have that on occasion.
My favourite beers would be Budvar and King Cobra but my most drunk would be Tennents because it's as readily available and only slightly more expensive than tap water in Scotland. I love Duvel too, in the frozen glass. I actually got some of that Leffe stuff today to try it out so we'll se how that goes.
I don't like Hoegarden/ Kronenbourg Blanc or any white beers though. Just wrong. WRONG!

Hoegarden tastes like shit. I bought a six-pack of that last December, choked down 1, and gave the other 5 away. I think they are still in my best friend's fridge.
I love Duvel. It's pretty expensive here, just under 10 bucks for a 4-pack but it all balances out as the shit is so strong and delicious. We also bought this dark Belgian beer called Gulden Draak and that was damn good.
I agree, Budweiser is probably one of the worst beers on earth. All the rednecks I went to school with swore by it and it was easy for underage kids to obtain. We were also 16 and didn't know what the fuck we were doing. I even drank pussy malternative shit like Hooch and Smirnoff Ice for a bit because I got so sick of Bud Light but didn't know any better. I am glad those days are far behind me.

Weren't the Draak the bad guys in Enemy Mine, starring Lou Gosset Jr as a fucked-up looking alien that gets impregnated by Dennis Quaid?

I agree with the whole 'American beers are awful' thing. They probably taste better on the way out than on in the way in.
