I made this thread to discuss anything relating to Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse whether it's the movies, TV shows(mainly just the Clerks cartoon that didn't last long), comics, shorts, etc.
I remember seeing TV spots for Clerks. way back in '94. I didn't see it until about 1998 though. The first movie I saw in the series was Chasing Amy around the time it was released on VHS. I had seen all three flicks(at the time) up to Dogma's release. I saw Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back in theaters as well as Clerks 2.
Overall, Clerks. is my favourite. It started it all & was an innovative(and hilarious!) film. Chasing Amy is my least favourite despite it still being a great movie.
My rankings: -Clerks. -Mallrats -Clerks 2 -Dogma -Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back -Chasing Amy
I also still own some Jay & Silent Bob & Clerks comics.

I remember hearing about these "Jay and Silent Bob movies" in grade 10 and after hearing Mallrats was one of them, I realized I'd already seen that. I didn't remember a damn thing about it. I brushed all of this off as nerd shit (I hate Star Wars and the like, and obviously this is heavily catered to that crowd), but then I saw the Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back trailer at some movie and immediately needed to see more of this. All I could rent was Mallrats and Dogma and I loved them, finally there was a movie where the people swore as much as I did. Then of course, I learned about J&SBSB being the "last" one and I was pissed because something I really liked had ended just as I learned of it again. I always respected Clerks, but I appreciate it more with time. Chasing Amy is my favorite and I think Clerks II is gaining eerily close to it these days. But, I do think in those, Smith edged upon some of the greatest comedies of all time. I'm not sure if this counts, but to this day I can't figure out why people dislike Jersey Girl. And, you can bet your ass come Tuesday I'm going to get Zack & Miri Make a Porno. Along with Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. It just might be the movie with the pussiest title I'll ever own, I've not seen it, but I like Michael Cera.
