I'm really not convinced they're right. Anyone got a better picture of Bennett aiming his pistol? Edit ~ Site here says Detonics ScoreMaster. The trigger guard on Bennett's gun looks rounded like the Detonics, not squared like the Grizzly.

Hmm, both have the extended barrel and adjustable rear sight. That doesn't make things easier. Could really do with a clear shot of the trigger guard.

This is something I've struggled with for years. I tend to think Bennett carries the Detonics because I have held a LAR Grizzly in .45 Win Mag, and it's pretty beefy. I'm about 5" taller than Vernon Wells, and I would say he is carrying a normal sized 1911. I think if he carried the Grizzly, it would look massive much like the Wildey did in Bronson's hands.

I'm still gonna say Detonics. The picture of the ScoreMaster shows an extended buttplate that's visibile here. The Grizzly doesn't seem to have that. Plus I want it to be a Detonics, because I grew up reading Jerry Ahern's "Survivalist" novels. ;D

I think I'm with Detonics now after looking through this site which i found, not only does this site state Bennett uses a Detonics Scoremaster the picture does look like the one he uses too. The Grizzly isn't even a colt model and Bennett's definitely is. I was wrong. If you scroll down on the site it shows all the M1911 models and who uses them in each film, pretty cool, it also shows General Kirby's side arm. www.imfdb.org/index.php?title=M1911_pistol_series
