Frank Zappa would often make 2-3 albums a year and was always on the move when it came to finding new talents.
He did everything from jazz to straight forward pop music, and loved to throw in a solid dose of sarcasm and humor where it belonged.
When not on stage or in the music studio, Frank worked as director and sometimes actor in the movies. He once played a drug lord in Miami Vice as Mario Fuentes, and was quite fond of old b-movies.
In the 80's Frank spoke out when it came to the discussion towards censorship.
In Norway, Frank is probably best known for his hit Bobby Brown (Goes Down) which still gets played on the radio very often, unfortunately most people don't seem to take a further look at all the other great music he's made.I'm not sure if this is true or a Zappa "myth" but I think there was a documentary where a former musician who worked with Frank told that he got so tired of hearing the audience ask for Bobby Brown, so Frank gave them what they "wanted". He played Bobby Brown so many times that the crowd went sick of it, and began leaving the show.
