Bill Capa (Bruce Willis) is a psychoanalyst who decides to take a time out from the big apple after one of his troubled patients commits suicide right in front of him.
Capa travels to Los Angeles where he meets up with an old friend and associate Dr. Bob Moore (Jeff Bakula), who suggest that Bill could stay at his place for some time if he wants.
Later on Dr. Bob Moore tells Bill about his Monday group therapy sessions and that he has been getting death threats lately.
What was supposed to be a couple of weeks of relaxation is now about to become a real nightmare for Bill Capa as he gets caught in the center of a murder investigation when Dr. Bob Moore is found dead at his office.
Det. Hector Martinez (Ruben Blades) who is in charge of the investigation asks Bill if he could take over the Monday night group therapy sessions which Bob used to run.
Reluctantly Capa decides to go on with the Monday night sessions and it doesn't take long before almost everyone in it is classified as a possible murder suspect.
In the meantime Bill gets himself involved with a mystic and erotic young brunette and on top of it all he is stalked by a dangerous nutcase who wants him dead.
Color of Night might not be Basic Instinct, Dressed to Kill or Body Heat, but it is a hilarious two and half hour ride that is filled up with so much unintentional madness that if you enjoy "over-the-top" acting along with lots of stereotypes you have to see this erotic "masterpiece".
Besides Bruce Willis who seems to be only one in the movie who tries to act out serious, it has the lovely Jane March along with a great line of actors such as Brad Dourif, Lance Henriksen and Ruben Blades.
Ruben and Dourif really steals the show and the group therapy meetings are pure comedy gold.
Many people would consider Color of Night to be one one the worst movies ever made, but I think its one of the funniest films of the 90's, unintentionally or not.
