van damme at his peak. bloodsport is better for for fights, but this is just much more watchable. the soundtrack is second only to rocky 4 for the cheesiest of the 80's. van damme is wearing trousers that require a nipple level belt line. and tong po think - my li 'she very good fuck'

Dennis Alexio should've won an Oscar for Kickboxer.

Kickboxer is a great martial arts film for kicking JCVD's career into stardom. Undoubtedly in my top five Van Dammage flicks. Tong Po sure is one viscious mother--he and Chon Li should go bowling. I crack up every time in the final fight that Van Damme hits Tong Po, he drags on this extremely long ".......eeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!........"

"My legs... they're like toothpicks" The famous scene has been removed from all dvd's what i know of anyway, but i finally found it in a vhs copy from 1990. Heres the deleted scene from youtube. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVmF0pweZok

This might sound silly to some, but I thought Van Damme's acting was pretty good in the hospital sequence when he first brings his brother after he's crushed by Tong Po. I just thought his loud, sad acting was actually pretty good from him at that part. Hell, I was convinced.

These movie critics give all the 80s classics a low rating
They probably gave XXX 5 stars
Has to be the great mans best.
"Legs....Legs?? dis guy was kickin one of deesss wif hes phukin legs!!!!! pahhhhhh"

To me, all reviews & opinions outside of like-minded peers are irrelevant.
Kickboxer rules.

I can't decide if I like this or Bloodsport more, they're both awesome. Favourite scene in Kickboxer (besides the dance scene ) is when he first kisses the love interest. He basically stalks her into the jungle in the middle of the night, kisses her without saying anything, and to top it all off as soon as their lips touch there is a flash of lightning and thunder. Comedy gold

In my opinion I think this goes right over Bloodsport. It was the first Van Damme film I ever saw, at a tender age, mind you, and is more of a movie than Bloodsport. Plus its got the dance scene.

I saw this as a kid before Bloodsport but Bloodsport has much more quotable lines you have to admit therefore making it a better movie in my opinion.

I Tivo'd Kickboxer thanks to Fake Mustache's heads up. I haven't seen this one since almost when it came out on tape. I was so young I thought Tong Po was Bolo and had Bloodsport and Kickboxer all mixed up. my Auntie was a big Van Damme fan in the early days so of course when I would visit her in Boston all we would watch would be Arnold and Van Damme. I caught all the Van Damme classics within a year of them coming out.
the best actor in the whole movie was Winston in my opinion.
"shit, you're givin Americans a bad name" and "that asshole probably woulda taken you to a whore house"
did anyone else notice Tong Po's shittier than shit Thai Clinch? Quissi or whatever his name is said he had trained in Muay Thai and that's how he got the role versus being some sort of coordinator.
I know... it's just a movie. it just stuck out for me.
