This classic Carpenter flick is definitely one of the best cult classics of 1988. Great comedic shtuff with pretty decent action to say the least. This, along with Escape from New York, is the film that made Kurt Russell my favorite actor (other than Clint Eastwood) I thought James Hong is absolutely hilarious as the creepy phantom villain Lo Pan.

Extremely quotable and off the wall fun. Plus we get to see Kurt Russell play John Wayne which is pretty funny.

Can someone please explain to my why Jack Burton and the Pork Chop Express has not seen the light of day in this forum?? Because the forum's only been up two weeeeeeks. There was a big BTiLC thread on the old board. I used to watch this movie at least once a week when I was at school, followed by The Golden Child which was on the same tape. After those I'd perhaps stick on my heavily edited ITV afternoon edition of Robocop...y ou're gonna be one bad mothercrusher.

I must admit that I have yet to watch this all the way through. I have watched it twice, but both times with the commentary. Kurt Russell does some of the best commentaries I have ever heard. He just jokes, makes fun of himself, and laughs like a hyena on cocaine from start to finish. I think they should hire him out to do commentary for every movie ever made.

Another great example of classic Carpenter/Russel movies. Epic hero kind of story with the whole Chinese/black magic thing. Good stuff.

You are not looking for a truck. You're looking for a thread. A thread about Big Trouble in Little China!
A brilliant mix of action, comedy, fantasy, martial arts and adventure.
Ridiculous premise, fun action sequences and brilliant dynamics between the key characters makes this one a timeless classic. They truly don't make them like they used to anymore!

My favorite Kurt Russell film. A strange and mystical adventure with action, comedy and memorable quotes and cast.
