without doubt one of the funniest films ever made, but one also with a load of brilliant fights. it single handedly manages to steal the teen-coming-of-age-aspects of karate kid and the pointless russians vs USA nonsense of rocky IV. if this wasnt enough to inspire a boner it also tries to resurrect the ghost of bruce lee.
the acting is without doubt the worst ive ever seen by all concerned. every scene is acted in such a way that it turns into a glorious pantomime. it has 'RJ' as the main character's sidekick - a michael jackson clone who breaks out into spontaneous rapping. it also has a fat bully type who sees fit to eat whole cakes while standing in the middle of the street.
oh and van damme turns up.
for those who havent seen it go and do so. you'll be in for a good laugh. these guys have made quite a nice little site which really touches and celebrates its unique brand of comedy:

Any movie where the ghost of Bruce Lee appears and starts to teach martial arts, is an instant winner in my books

I remember being totally sold on this movie as a kid. Russians were evil, Van Damme was an arsehole and I was insanely jealous that Bruce Lee's ghost trained Jason and not me. The last time I watched this was a few years ago when I was visiting a friend of mine in Wales. He was at work during the day and told me to just make myself at home and watch any of his DVDs/videos as I saw fit. I found this little gem sitting amongst the pile of videos in his room, blew the dust off the cover and popped it in the VCR. The final fight where Van Damme takes on all those American guys was pure hilarity, especially when he knocks one of them out and then does the splits whilst sitting on the ropes of the corner of the ring

This movie is indeed a classic. I actually sought this movie out because it had Van Damme and sounded awesome. When I finally got to watch it I realized at some point that I had already seen the movie in my childhood! I mean really the ghost Bruce Lee training is unforgettable. Lets just say it lived up to my memories and then some!
