What a great action double bill these two film`s are. I`m something of a Seagal maniac and these film`s showcase his arse kicking ability brilliantly. I know the first is much better made but I do prefer the 2nd just a little more for having more Seagal for your buck. "I also cook."

Andrew Davis is an incredible director and deserves every ounce of respect he gets for making Under Siege. Definitely the greatest of the "Die Hard knock-off" plethora of movies. Tommy Lee Jones is outstanding as Bill Strannix, a madman stuck on reliving the 60s. The action gets into the picture alittle slow, but when we are first treated to it by the helicopter explosion/kick-and-shoot scene, it is delivered in an insanely awesome way. The workshop scene as well is totally violent and makes me cringe every time that Steven Seagal slices through that one henchman's thigh and double-stabs his armpit. OOOOO!!! And then there's the final knife fight between Seagal and Jones that feels very confined and extremely dangerous! Seagal REALLY rips Jones a new one when he gouges his eye out, shoves the knife into the top of his skull and sends him into the control panel. Bloody brilliant.

I've always preferred the second one over the original, however nothing can beat Gary 'fucking' Busey dressed as a woman.
"Time for the party captain!"

The image of GB in the dress with a big fat cigar sticking out of his mouth is burned in my memory. I've always sort of preferred US2 to the first as well, though. The henchman are so diverse and hilarious and I've always liked psychotic villains like Travis Dane. The scene where Seagal is hanging off the cliff face and henchman after henchman attempt to get him and he keeps slamming faces into walls and cutting their rope is great. ;D
"Oh, hellooooo."

I really liked US1 and I think that the 2 for 1 of Tommy Lee Jones and Gary Busey is what makes that movie as good as it is. When I saw US2 I thought it was fantastic but that first impression has not held up after repeat viewings.
If you want to see Tommy Lee Jones in a superior knife fight, check out The Hunted with Benicio Del Toro. That one is brutal. Not that having your eye gouged and a knife shoved in the top of your head isn't.

Haha. Garey Busey is the man.
I loved the first Under Siege. The second one had some great moments, but I didn't like it nearly as much as the first one.

Just watched US2 yesterday and it was chock full of famous bad guy actors:
Peter Greene - The Mask, Pulp Fiction Patrick Kilpatrick - Death Warrant Everett McGill - Silver Bullet, License to Kill
My favorite sequence was the fight between Penn and Seagal in the kitchen. That is the reason I watch Seagal flicks. He is an awesome Arskicker!
Still liked the first one better though. Tommy Lee Jones wasn't treated like a little bitch by his flunky Busey.

One of my all-time favorite scenes in Seagal movie history is when Jonathan Banks and a merc from Glimmer Man stop the train and kill the conductor. Conductor: "What's the problem, guys?" Banks: "Someone's been shot." Conductor: "Where?" Banks: "Here!" *shoots conductor*

That part is great. Damn, Everett McGill just has such a great mercenary look. He genuinely looks like one. The same goes for Patrick Kilpatrick.
