I must say, this is probably my absolute favorite band as of right now. 2112 is a brilliant album, as is the great live record 'Exit Stage Left.' I got their 'Rush in Rio' 2003 dvd for Christmas and by god it is fantastic. In my book, they pass Judas Priest and Iron Maiden by .1% The canadian music industry finally did something right.

I like a bit of Rush myself, though i'm not an authority on them, bands with such a huge back catalogue can be hard to fully get into unless they are the aforementioned Maiden or Priest.
I've got 2112, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures and Snakes and Arrows so far. I'll get that one with the cool owl on the front soon...
Canada has loads of other great bands too by the way.

A FAREWELL TO THE KINGS is the greatest album of all the times.

I prefer the "prog-rock" era with albums like 2112 and A Farwell To Kings, but the more synth dominated cds, like Signals and Moving Pictures are still very enjoyable.
Not so big fan of their late 80s and early 90s releases, but Snake And Arrows was a fun surprise.
Xanadu, Witch Hunt, Losing It, The Analog Kid and 2112 are probaly the Rush songs i most often listen too, but i see them more as an "Album band", like Pink Floyd, King Crimson and Yes. You have to sit trough and listen to the whole cd, to get the ultimate Rush excperience.

I much prefer Grace Under Pressure to Signals, solely based on the inclusion of 'Kid Gloves' and 'Distant Early Warning'.
It's been almost a year since I last gave Rush a listen. My cd's have been collecting dust for some time. Finally listened to Show of Hands for the first time--absolutely outstanding live record.

Kid Gloves is a good Rush song and would fit right in with Signals, but I have always thought of Grace Under Pressure as a b-side album, with potential but sadly only one real great song, while the rest of it feels like leftovers from Signals. The best thing about Grace Under Pressure is the 1984 tour live version of Witch Hunt, which sounds even better than the album version. RUUUSH!
