One of my favourite slashers ever. Cut to shreds but still a damn good early 1980s slasher. They don't make 'em like this anymore. Miner gets trapped in mine with a few other guys after the supervisors leave to the annual Valentine's Day party. Only one survives but does so by eating the rest of the miners. A year later, he kills those supervisors & the Valentine's Day party is cancelled....until twenty years later. Is Harry Warden back again to halt the party? This is one of the best slashers ever made. It comes from the best year for the genre, 1981. There is no nudity & no gore but that doesn't really hurt it. The killer is original & unique..pretty creepy too. The atmosphere is great as is the setting for the movie. And most of the cast is likeable. Great twist at the end too.

My Bloody Valentine Special Edition on the Waywww.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=8216I really hope that the footage is complete & is incorporated into the actual movie. Even if it isn't, at least we'll finally get to see some of the lost footage. Hopefully all of it. This will be mine. I'm actually looking forward to the remake. Very odd.

I've wanted to see this for so long ever since there was a big part on this movie in a documentary of the slasher film. Looks totally magnificent and to be honest the remake actually looks like a quality one, as opposed to the other floaters like TCM and Halloween remakes.

It`s funny, I love Holiday related slasher film and I`ve always wanted to see this but avoided it due to insane amount of censorship.
I`ll definitely be picking that release up and look forward to seeing it in it`s uncut glory.

I've heard that the cut footage is being edited into the movie so it'll be uncut. That's what has been floating around but there hasn't been an official announcement. I'd give Lionsgate major props if it ends up being true.

Hell yeah! I've been looking all over for it on DVD but can only find it in a 2-pack with April Fool's Day, and that's the edited version. At least now I know I don't have to worry if I'm getting a version that's cut to pieces or not, a` la Friday the 13th: Part 7.

To fans of the original My Bloody Valentine, GET THE NEW DVD! It's pretty damn awesome. The extra scenes & gore make it worth the purchase. I grabbed a copy at Wal-Mart for $13.

Finally watched this masterpiece last night--I love this movie! Scary as hell and has one of the best horror endings in years. I watched the Unrated cut first and I actually can't believe how much was cut out of this film--uncut version's easily just as violent as Friday the 13th! Still, I really dig this movie; surely in my top 5 horrors.
"Sarah, be My Bloody Valentine..."
