Arnie is without a doubt my favorite action star, he's starred in alot of great films, Commando (of course), The Terminator, Total Recall , you guys know already. In his early days he was Mr Universe, and now he is Governor of California, man hes done alot in his life, really hes had three careers, pro body builder, Action star, now a politician. Hats off to the man.

Truly a complete success story. Arnie is to action what George Carlin is to stand-up.

My first exposure to Arnold Schwarzenegger occurred when I first saw the cover to Commando at our local grocery store. I was about 6. Since then, I have been a huge fan. He is the quintessential action hero, a true man's man. He has led a really extraordinary life and his success story is one of the greatest in recent memory. He went from being a relatively poor police officer's son to being a world-renowned bodybuilder to movie star legend to politician. They broke the mold with Strudel and all contenders-to-the-throne shall be forever measured against him.

My stepdad(well he was "Dad" to me) would rent movies like The Terminator, Total Recall, Commando, The Running Man, etc all the time when I was a kid. Probably around 7 or 8 or so. We'd watch them & chow down on my favourite pizza in the world, Adornetto's. Some good times. That's how I cut my teeth on action.
Thanks Governator. ;D

I'm guessing Commando was my first Arnold movie. Rented it around 1987/88.
Bought one of the old big box ex rental copies on eBay a few years ago just so I could re live the experience. (Trailer for Aliens and some other 80's action flicks at the start of the tape).

I can't clearly recall my first exposure to Strudel, but my pre-teen years are a haze of Aliens, Robocop, Jaws and several Schwarzenegger films including Terminator, Predator, Running Man and, of course, Commando. I actually think it was Commando that I first saw, and I was introduced to it by my ancient grandmother of all people. She's a big Arnold fan, and owns all of his movies up to the late 90s when her brain began to rattle around in her skull. She even owns fucking Cactus Jack. I clearly remember sitting in front of the TV watching Cooke drive that big Cadillac through the showroom glass and through Forrestal (Lawson?) with my grandmother sagely noting that "all Americans are psychos" in the background.

We can only hope that someday people will get off their high horse and give Arnie the credit he deserves. The problem is that he made it look so easy. Everyone assumed they could do it too and now look where we are. I hope he's got at least 3 more ass kicking films left in him. How many terms can he serve as Governor?

Conan the Barbarian was my first exposure to Arnold. I was a fan ever since. That movie had everything! Swords, violence, Arnold, blood, gore, Arnold slicing people up, pit fights, human sacrifices, Arnold getting busy, giant snakes, wizards, Arnold pulverising his opponants. This movie rocks!

First Schwarzenegger experience was back in '91 when Terminator 2 came out. Been hooked ever since. He's my all time number one idol and my hero. The person I look upto most in the world. ;D Can't go a day without working an Arnold quote in somewhere!

One of my earliest memories is of seeing Terminator for the first time. I was maybe 4 or 5 years old, and I couldn't sleep one night, so I went to go find my dad. He was in the living room watching Terminator. I stayed up and watched it with him, and it scared me SO bad! I totally loved it, though. And I loved T-2 even more. I was introduced to all of Arnie's other movies by both my dad and my aunt (who had this ginormous crush on him). My dad would always skip through any sex scenes, so when I watched a few uncut when I was older it was like, "OMG where did that tri-breasted hooker come from?" And, aside from being in like, 10 of my favorite movies, Arnold is just such a cool guy! Came to the US with nothing then worked damn hard and really made something of himself. He personifies the American dream. I've met him a few times, and my dad has actually worked with him, and he seems really nice too. Arnold has basically been my favorite action star, and one of my favorite movie stars in general, ever since I was 4. And he's hot.
