A truly underrated action star who could've had it all if Punisher got released in theaters back in '89. Red Scorpion, UniSol and Punisher are great Dolph flicks, as is his recent DTV output The Mechanik/Russian Specialist.
Sgt. Andrew Scott is a true war hero ;D "God damn it the whole fucking platoon's dropping like flies! What the hell are you staring it? Do you have any idea what it's like out there? Do you? Well I'm fightin' this thing man, it's like kick ass, or kiss ass, and I'm bustin' heads! It's the only way to win this fuckin' war. And these shitheads, these yellow traitoring motherfuckers. They're everywhere. And I, Sgt. Andrew Scott of the US Army, am gonna teach 'em all. "

"See? They're everywhere."
Lundgren is one of the best action stars ever and I am glad the he has carved a niche in the DTV realm. He still has many fans all over the world and has not forgotten them. The Mechanik is an awesome movie. I have the special edition of Universal Soldier and there is a great interview with Dolph where he talks about living in London, jogging through Hyde Park and having 20-something males spouting off quotes like "I must break you" and "If he dies, he dies" at him. He loved it.
Brilliant guy too. He studied in Sweden, Australia and at MIT in Boston and has a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering. He also speaks 5 languages.

He was one of the best antagonists that JCVD ever had. Basically he and Bolo Yeung are the top 2. He should be playing villains in more high profile action movies.

He should be playing villains in more high profile action movies. ...which is basically every action film that doesn't star Vin Diesel or guys from WWF.

What the movie didn't have in characters Frank Langella more than made up for with his portrayal of Skeletor. He was so cool.

The Dolph was easily one of my top 5 action stars. His stunning aryan features and rippling God-like physique lent itself well to film. It was unfortunate that perhaps he entered into the era where muscular torsos had reached overkill and the lack of success with his mis-managed high-profile films (Punisher and MotU) ultimately placed him in the C-grade slot. His films were still quality though, among the best being those mentioned above and personal favorites like Showdown in Little Tokyo, Army of One, Men of War, Silent Trigger, Jill Rips and John Woo's Blackjack, which was not a great film but showcased his most charming performance.

RED SCORPION was top notch, it's a shame they didn't pull a decent DVD release off, what a shame.

I liked The Minion. I thought he was great in that one. I Come in Peace remains one of the greatest movies I have ever seen him in. He should have signed on for more of those. Rumer I heard though is that the director of I Come in Peace only agreed to do that movie because he had heard that Dolph was signed to play the evil alien drug dealer. This movie was also originally titled "Dark Angel"
