I really hope this gets made. To happier places, now, with news of Lost in Showbiz untouchable Steven Seagal. Round here, any criticism of Seagal is punishable by broken wrist, while those of you who fail to respect his cinematic canon also risk being thrown through a window, or dispatched using an improvised weapon such as a pool ball in bar towel (Out For Justice) or a microwave (Under Siege).
Now that's done, our business today is with eternally doomed movie-star vanity projects. The second greatest of these is obviously Vin Diesel's multi-gazillion-dollar Hannibal epic, which will see the radioactively dim star of the Fast and Furious franchise assume the mantle of one of the greatest military commanders of all time, just so long as shortsighted movie producers stop passing on the idea.
But the first greatest of all the vanity projects is unquestionably Seagal's Genghis Khan epic, which the On Deadly Ground legend first mentioned in 1998. He even got around to writing a script, which he instantly burnished by attaching himself to the project as director and star. Since then? Well, it remains tantalizingly unproduced, despite various missions to China to scout locations and actors. Oh, and the mafia got involved. The usual.
So imagine my delight to read a dispatch from last week's 2nd International Action Film festival in the Kazakhstan capital Astana, at which Seagal appears to be combining guest-of-honour duties with his usual humanitarian commitments. Apparently, he told reporters that the US movie industry was in the doldrums – stay with this – and that he would now make the film with Russian and Kazakh cinematographers. "We are not only working on the plot, but also settling financial issues," he explained, adding that his friend, the mayor of Astana, was going to help him.
Do we dare to dream? On the form book, no. But having beaten the form book to a pulp with a corkscrew (Out For Justice), Lost in Showbiz is officially laying in popcorn. www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/lostinshowbiz/2011/jul/07/steven-seagal-genghis-khanAs you can see the resemblance is uncanny.

I saw three of his newer films last week and enjoyed them a lot more than most of what he made between 2001-2008.
Born to Raise Hell (2011) A Dangerous Man (2010) The Keeper (2009)
They did have some great action scenes and I really liked the look and atmosphere in "A Dangerous Man", but I think "Born to Raise Hell" is his best work in over a decade besides his role as a bad guy in "Machete".

Not sure how many saw this interview but it`s fucking insane, he just comes out with lie after lie after lie, not too mention he starts attacking other action stars for no reason. Here`s Steven at a zoo, saw this on the unoffical fan site. By the way Milo, check out The Keeper, Driven To Kill and A Dangerous Man there`re good fun.

Fuck it, as I`m on a role here`s Jon Jones run in with the MMA master. Jones spoke with Jim Rome on "The Jim Rome Show" about his "strange" run in with Seagal.
"I'm not sure how he got my [phone] number, but he was just like, 'Hey, listen, I think you're gonna win the fight, and when I predict someone is gonna win, I'm never wrong...There are a few things I want to go over with you.' It was all just very strange.
I don't wanna bad mouth him. He had good intentions, I think. But yeah, I definitely wasn't having Steven Seagal in my corner. I could see if it was Jet Li or something. I mean Jet Li would be pretty cool. Yeah, I'd definitely take that meeting."
Here`s Seagal`s revenge. "I respect every single fighter that gets out there in the Octagon and fights. Jon is a very good wrestler. Do I think he's a good puncher or kicker? No, not at all, and that's just my opinion. To me, he's like a heavyweight. He's 6'4, he's very athletic and very strong. Is he a better fighter than Lyoto? No. Not even close. But that doesn't mean he can't win."

Steven's ego is unmatched. I loved the ''Are you fucking kidding me'' look, when The Voice asked about Michael Jai White Steven at the zoo picture is so random and hilarious. I bet that blonde was holding Steven's trouser snake soon after that picture was taken ;D Thanks for the recommendations,I'll check 'em out

Steven Seagal is like glue when it comes to my family and he brings us all together a couple of times a year to watch and enjoy his movies.
Saw "Mercenary for Justice" and "Kill Switch" on Friday with my dad, brother and uncle and some of the scenes in "Kill Switch" made us laugh until we almost lost our breath.
