a legend who never quite got the star billing he so deserved. he was always a supporting player, notable for his golan/globus work in tandem with michael dudikoff. lit up such brilliant films as avenging force, the exterminator, delta force, american ninja, and mcbain. tragically no longer with us. steve you will be missed.

I actually thought he was better than Dudikoff & Bradley in the American Ninja movies. He played a cop in Vigilante that sadly got blown away.

Ah, yes. Steve James. The man I referred to as Black Rambo when I first saw American Ninja, which is exactly what he was at the end. What I don't understand is why this man isn't honored in black history month, along with Richard Roundtree and Fred Williamson.

I would have paid to see a movie where Steve James and Carl Weathers join forces to destroy a right-wing terrorist organization. If Steve's character had lived in Avenging Force, this would have been ideal sequel material, but instead of Weathers, Dudikoff would have to come back to aid his pal.

I love Steve James in the American Ninja movies! He's the ultimate sidekick! I really wish he did star in his own action movies, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Steve James and Michael Dudikoff are such a great duo though. It's a shame we'll never get to see them on screen together again!

I´ve seen Avenging force, The Exterminator, Delta force, Mcbain, Riverbend (which was cut to shreds i Sweden), I`m Gonna Git You Sucka, Street Hunter, Vigilante, American ninja 1, 2 and 3 etc with Steve james. He was quite good, i had an american moviemagazine which featured an interview with him and it stated that Steve James had to teach Michael Dudikoff martial arts during the shooting of American Ninja.
Street Hunter was included in a Grindhouse Experience - American Gangstas (along with 9 other movies) which was announced by Videoasia some time ago but it hasn´t been released yet...
