In the same way Rambo is the greatest action film in years, this is one of the best thrillers in recent history IMHO, thanks to the Coen brothers. It's a brutal modern western that doubles as a morality play.
Javier Bardem was simply scary as hell and one twisted bastard as the cold-hearted Anton Chigurh and Josh Brolin was the perfect antithesis, an anti-hero you could easily root for.
Tommy Lee Jones was as reliable as ever.
I love the confrontation between Chigurh and Moss, with all guns blazing and neither man ready to quit.
Good, suspenseful passages and a totally unexpected ending which I eventually understood after the film ended.
Along with Death Sentence and Rambo, this is one of the most violent films I've seen at the pics.

I'll second that.
Most people were expecting an all-out blazing guns finale at the end. Either that, or a showdown between Jones and Bardem. It was clever to see how the Coens defied genre conventions to give us a more realistic, believable and adult thriller.

Best thriller I have ever seen, just enough action for AF junkie also. JB really brings Anton to life its like hes still out there when the movie finishes.

This is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. I watched it twice in a row the first time I saw it. Chigurh is an awesome villain, Javier Bardem did an outstanding job. Mr. TLJ and Josh Brolin were both kick-ass as well.
I like that the Coen brothers told Javier Bardem that he was perfect to play Chigurh after he told them he thought he wasn't because his English was bad, he didn't have a driver's license, and he detested violence.

I watched this a couple of days ago and really enjoyed it although I was a little taken aback at the ending. I have to admit i didn't expect it to end so suddenly and i was left thinking wtf? Is that it? Going to sit down and watch it again over the weekend and pay a bit more attention to it.

I need to give this a rewatch soon. It's been awhile since I've watched it.

The Blu-Ray is under $8 bucks at Walmart right now. Thinking of picking it up. Loved the movie, although the ending is a little awkward.
