I've seen all the Harrison Ford ones. They are all great movies,my favorite being ''Clear and Present Danger''. The Hunt For Red October is also pretty good movie.
I haven't watched ''Sum of All Fears'' yet, because Ben Assfleck is basically actor who I don't give a shit about.

I've seen Red October and Patriot Games, both of which I enjoyed a lot.
Rumour has it that a screenplay was written that saw Captain Bennett facing up against Jack Ryan, called Queer and Present Danger, but maybe I just made that up.

Jack Ryan has never faced danger like Captain Bennett before, that's for sure

Red October and Patriot Games were good, but sum all fears was utter rubbish. Count on Ben Afleck to kill any film he is in.

These movies fucking rule. I enjoy all of them, even Sum of All Fears. I don't hate Affleck, but I also don't have a poster of him in his underwear on the ceiling above my bed either. Patriot Games is probably my favorite.
My friend and I just watched it while drinking a few weeks ago and were discussing at great length the power imposed by Harrison Ford when he points at someone. For example, when he notices that the IRA gents are about to whack the Royal, he runs at his wife and daughter, points and yells "GET DOWN!!!". We were willing to bet that the entire city of London (and quite possible the entire island of the United Kingdom) hit the deck with shit and piss streaming down their legs. Also, that part where that IRA spokesman tries to talk to him at the hospital and he just turns around and points at him with those eyes of ice, brutal.
Clear and Present Danger is also awesome but I can't accept Willem Dafoe as John Clark, it just doesn't fit. I thought that Liev Schreiber was much more convincing in the role in Sum of All Fears.
The Hunt for Red October is awesome. I used to rent it from the library as often as I could. Sean Connery is the man and although Ford was the best Jack Ryan to me, Alec Baldwin was no slouch either.

I love all these films, well apart from the Sum Of All Fears which i've barely seen properly through... *makes note to do this shortly*
I also started reading an old copy of Red Storm Rising i found in my dads house yesterday. Cold War paranoia how i miss thee.

I'm ashamed to say that I've only seen Clear & Present Danger, which was around 1994-1995 or so. I have it on VHS somewhere around here.

"Tits."
I revisited the Ford entries a few times this summer. This was an ideal role for him- especially as he neared his 60s- and I'm surprised he never returned to it. It should've been his bread-and-butter franchise for the late 90s/early 00s.
I'd love to read the draft of Sum of All Fears that he turned down. From what I remember, it had him playing cards with the President and visiting the Pope. There's no way it could've been worse than the Hollywood Homicide script.
Anyway, I think I lean towards Patriot Games as my favorite. It's such a tight little revenge flick, and you forget what a great supporting cast it features: Sean Bean, Richard Harris, Sam Jackson(!), etc.
But Clear and Present is equally good, and a bit more epic in scope. These were the only two films they planned at the time (per the dvd extras), although it feels like 2/3 of a trilogy.
