I wasn't sure if I should put this in the horror or sci-fi section, so I put it here. By all means move it. I just watched Videodrome for the first time last night on Encore-Mystery and was totally blown away. It's the 2nd Cronenberg film I've ever seen and I must say it is one wild flick. Laced with gore and torture. James Woods stars as Max Renn, a programmer of Civic TV, a television channel notorious for showing soft-core porn, who comes across a snuff show entitled 'Videodrome.' He kinda becomes obsessed with it and his life spins out of control with hallucinations and elements of the unreal.James Woods is awesome and very convincing. The props are unbelievably well-done and seem very real. The last half-hour is insane and just completely blew me away. The ending really makes you sit there with your eyes wide open--reminded me somehow of Halloween 3.

One of my favorite movies by Cronenberg, or any 80s movie. Scared the living shit out of me, as a kid. The music is brilliant, as always by Howard Shore, and it gives the viewer a kinda of a reminder that this is one flick you'll never forget. Scanners, The Brood, The Fly and The Dead Zone are some other Cronenberg classics you should see Fake Mustache, those films have plenty of gore and horror, and incredible special effects. James Woods made some nice movies back then, now he stars in that crap show Shark, and his face looks so stretched, that his ears eventually will have a rendezvous in the back of his neck. But what the heck, hes James Woods. LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH!
