My most recent undertaking is the construction of a MAME arcade machine. Either a cabinet kit will be used, or simply built from scratch. I already threw together an old pc and I'm slowly migrating MAME ROM's and other things onto it.
Anyways I was just curious as to what everyone's favorite arcade games were.
Mine are: Terminator2 (with the gun controller.)
Aliens, X-Men, Street Fighter, MK 1 and 2, Ninja turtles.

Pac-Man obviously. Also; Double Dragon, Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat II. And the old Simpsons game desrves a mention for nostalgia.
Remember the Street Fighter arcade game which was based on the movie and featured a Van Damme sprit? It wasn't very good.

To be honest many of my favorite arcade games don't consist of the very old classics like Dig-Dug. I'm more of a shooting/fighting fan.
My favorite arcade machines
Time Crisis 3 Crisis Zone Ghost Squad Street Fighter II Mortal Kombat II Ultimate MK III Tekken II Tekken 5 Hydro Thunder Galaga
I'd like to give a nod to the bad arcade game Target: Terror for the two-gun "Justice Mode," which makes the game actually fun.

Daytona USA, Mortal Kombat, Time Crisis 3, Crisis Zone, and Area 51 are some of my all-time favorite arcade games.

Never really played in the arcades much as a young lad. I remember being amazed by Street Fighter II and being really good at Time Crisis 2 though.
Also, me and General Kirby used to always have a bash at House of the Dead before going to catch a movie at the cinema. Those were the days.

I spent a fortune trying to beat House Of The Dead 2, must have spent about £30 on the day I actually managed to nail it. I used to love racing games at the arcade, Daytona USA, Ridge Racer, Virtua Racing, Crusin' USA, Sega Rally etc. Anyone remember GTI Club? Two player mode had you driving around with a bomb above your car, the object was to slam into your buddy and transfer it over to him, whoever had it at the end lost, had some great laughs playing that. I was shit hot at Virtua Cop 2 and Virtua Striker 2. Good good times.
