These films were/are the scourge of the critical world, but I bet I'm not the only one around these parts with a soft spot for these guys. Besides, in the age of Disaster Movie they look like high art.
I think the first is a genuine classic and the best of the series, but I think the forth is the best of the sequels. It's got the most Bobcat, a hot air balloon, it brings back G.W. Bailey and it has Sharon Stone, David Spade and Tony Hawks in roles I'm sure they're all very proud of. I'm also quite fond of 6. The last one was tough going even for me.

The first is easily the best. The other ones are watchable, but they are not nearly as good as the first movie.

I had to settle on the first one but I've loved these movies since I was about 5. I think I saw Police Academy 3 first, then maybe the 4th one. The first one was the last one I saw, I rented it from the library when I was about 7 or 8 and was pleasantly surprised to see tits in it. In fact, it was on TV earlier today on TV.

Voted Citizens on Patrol, mostly because of Corrine Bohrer, and the soundtrack. Loved the scenes with Zed and Sweetchuck, and the whole "Umma-Umma-Yama-Umma-Umma-Yama! Ha-Ha-Ha!" scene where Tackleberry, Mahoney and Hightower, teaches David Spade and some other youngster a lesson or five.

I voted for Mission to Moscow, because of the scene where Lassard and the other guy at dinner were spitting a hard boiled egg into each other's mouths. That's comedy gold!

Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol is still my favorite, not the best but certainly the one I enjoy most. Never really liked the films after the 4th one, without Guttenberg and Bobcat it was not the same.
Michael Winslow was on a Norwegian talk show a couple of months back, and he talked about a new Police Academy movie and gave the audience a great time.
