I know it won't be released until November 18th, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it might very well prove to be the best video game made in the past decade. This game looks like it will knock the shit out of your ass. I've been swimming in a sea of gameplay footage and developer interviews, and November cannot get here rapidly enough. The AI in this game is unlike anything I have ever seen. Watching a pack of zombies turn a corner in full sprint is about as realistic as the scenes in the 28 Days/Weeks films. Also, the fact that there is one massive "bot" called the AI Director who basically spawns zombies and manipulates the tension of the game is ridiculously unique and badass. I'm hoping to survive with a few of you on the PC servers! Some goodies: www.gametrailers.com/player/39368.htmlwww.gametrailers.com/player/39370.htmlwww.youtube.com/watch?v=nFLbm-jJdQg

I'm with you, man. I've been tracking the progress of Left 4 Dead for about a year, since Episode Two was in pre-release anyway, and it looks really, really exciting.
One thing I'm not sure I like the sound of though is the concept that if you get knocked down by one of the undead, you're unable to get back up without the help of a fellow player. I understand the conceit as an effort to strengthen co-op play, but it sounds like it could be very irritating. That said, I know Valve playtest their games to death before even considering releasing them so no doubt it'll work seamlessly. They haven't released a crap product yet.

I too am concerned about the knockdown concept. Some of the gameplay footage I watched featured a survivor picking himself up. I think you may actually be able to get up on your own save that you weren't brutally beaten whilst on the floor.
Would you be getting the game for the PC or Xbox 360? We ought to form a Commando Fans team.

As long as they don't update the Source engine too much, I'll be getting the PC version.

I've played the demo a few times and it's very good fun, going to have to get the full game shortly.

I recently bought this for the 360--I'm completely hooked on playing it on Xbox Live. It's great to go back-to-back with friends and knock the zombies dead. Definitely my favorite game of '08 outside of CoD4 and Stranglehold.

We need to establish some sort of Commando Fans game one of these days. I think that 360 players can play against PC players in Versus games. If this is the case, a battle must ensue.

I'd love to try this one out but my PC can't run it. I need a better processor. Overall, it almost meets the minimum requirements.
I need to get an X-Box 360. I've been wanting one badly for awhile now.

Well I went out and got the game even though I wasn't too impressed with the demo. This game is really fun, but a little light on content, although I read new levels and stuff are coming soon on PC and Xbox. I have it on Xbox and I'm looking for some people to play with. I'm tired of playing with random 12 year olds. (insert Jacko joke) Anyone with the 360 version, send me a message or friend request. I've been wanting one badly for awhile now. Another one lost to the Xbox. If you guys all actually start playing, let me know, and we can establish a Versus game. It really is a fucking shame that 360 and PC players can't campaign together. I hope this an issue the devs plan on addressing.

I actually like Left 4 Dead quite a bit. I have the PC version and it runs butter smooth on high. sometimes it is just too much. blasting away in a circle to keep the swarms of zombies off.
but it is good fun.
STEAM me bitches.

I ended up picking it up on the 360 a couple of weeks ago, it's a lot of fun if you can find the right people to play with, but Xbox Live being what it is, there's too many children that just have to spoil it for everyone else.
It was over too quickly as well, there's DLC in the pipeline though to look forward to.
