You read it here first, fiends. Rob Zombie is re-teaming with Dimension Films to direct a follow-up to 2007's Halloween entitled H2.
Variety, who confirmed our news break (yet, sadly, offers no credit), says the new film will pick up where Zombie's reboot ended "following the aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted."
Sources tell us that Zombie's vision for the sequel - which will not resemble Rick Rosenthal's original second installment - is "crazy" and a "totally unique approach" for a next chapter.
"I was so burned out. (But) I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again," Zombie tells Variety. "Now, we'll be hauling ass, and that's the problem making a movie called 'Halloween': If you come out Nov. 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I'd be fine."
Tyler Mane will reprise his role as Michael Myers; it's unknown if Scout Taylor-Compton or Malcolm McDowell will encore as Laurie and Dr. Loomis, respectively.
Production begins in March with its release targeted for October (a similar turnaround on Zombie's first Halloween). Malek Akkad of Trancas International Films will produce alongside Spectacle Entertainment's Andy Gould.

I was kind of looking forward to this sequel because I thought we'd seen the last of this untalented, overrated hack but I was wrong. People worship his Halloween as a masterpiece when really it's a bad movie(not bad in a good way) trying to pose as a good movie.
I don't mind people being fans of his or liking his movie, but some of his hardcore fans are the dumbest people I've ever come across. They can't seem to grasp that people may disagree with them about Zombie. I sure as hell don't think he's the "be all end all" of filmmaking. They keep trying to shove it down peoples' throats that Rob's "visions" are amazing & that we aren't true fans of horror if we don't like them. His visions are like smearing diarrhea on a pair of goggles then being forced to wear them & see everything in turd vision aka how he sees things.
Zombie is terrible but his hardcore fanboys are the worse. And no, not all of his fans are morons. Just the hardcore people that shove their Zombie love down peoples' throats & can't accept that people disagree with them. I know plenty of his fans that are very civil & that's cool.
Here's the lame, made in Photoshop poster:
