I first saw these movies on USA Up All Night! back in the day. One of the things I remember most from the series is this part from the second film: Anyway, I love the first film. The second & third are movies I have to be in the mood to watch. I watched Citizen Toxie today for the first time & liked it quite a bit. I like it second best in the series after the original. It also features a Corey Feldman cameo that is pure gold! I've heard the only way to have The Toxic Avenger Part II uncut is by getting the The Tox Box set. I'm glad that I own it. I was thinking about getting the new set until I heard that it included the cut version of Part 2. I'd really have no use for it aside from the bonus disc for Citizen Toxie & The Toxic Crusaders cartoon so it's not really worth the plunge for me. I've also heard that you can get it uncut by buying the "Troma-Two Pack"(the third one). I love the Toxic Avenger song that plays during the opening of Toxic Avenger 2. I also still have my Toxie action figure from back in the day when Toxic Crusaders was around. Too bad I can't find his accessories. I'd be content with just the mop. Finally....Patrick Kilpatrick in one of his greatest roles.... "All right everybody, drop your tacos or I'll blow your brains out!"

The group of bullies from the gym in the first film are so damn funny. I just want to run over everything that breathes when I drive thanks to that movie.

"You fat slob, lets see if you have any guts"
Pat Ryan as Mayor Belgoody, was Oscar worthy material. If im not wrong, i think Pat Ryan also was in 2 other 80s classics, Street Trash, and Class of nuke em high.
Anyway, The Toxic Avenger is one of those movies you never forget, even if you hate it. I remember the first time i watched it, and it open a whole new world to me. It had everything, gore, natural 80s titties, music-so-bad-its-good, lots of more gore, and it paved way to other Troma classic such as "Tromas War", "Surf Nazis Must Die", "Class of nuke em high", "Sgt Kabukiman Nypd", and the most recently Troma film, the hilarius "Poultrygeist: Night of the chicken dead".
I wanted it so bad on dvd, but when i finaly got it, it was cut to pieces, and almost every gore/nudity scenes were gone. Even though, it was still very entertaining, but not quite the same. I tried to order the Toxic Avenger set, with 3-4 movies included, but somehow it was suddenly unavailable. Thankfully i found the "Unrated Directors Cut" back in 2007, with lots of special features, and even more gore and nudity than the version i first saw.
The sequels isn't really that bad, both the second and third has two very entertaining openings, and i think it was meant that the two sequels where infact one film, but it would have had a runtime of ca 3 hours or more, so they changed it, and decided it should be two movies, instead of one.
Citizen Toxic is quite good, and more than good if you look at the 89 sequels, but still its nowhere near as funny as the first one. Love the Lemmy and Ron Jeremy cameos though.

I have the Class of Nuke 'Em High trilogy box set. It's been ages since I've watched them though. I have the director's cut of Surf Nazis Must Die on VHS. I love how the guy who plays Adolf in SNMD is also the coroner from Maniac Cop & Maniac Cop 2.

In the first Toxic Avenger flick, the actor (Mitch Cohen) who played Toxie also has one of the funniest cameos i've seen, but somehow its not included in the The Unrated Directors Cut i bought a couple of years ago. First time i saw Toxic Avenger i remember the scene where Toxie followed Sarah home, after the Taco diner scene. Then Sarah made him some sandwiches, wich Toxie throw out, hitting a man standing in a window nearby, but right before you can see it actually hit him, it changes back again to Sarah sitting on the bed. img231.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dvdvolume11xm0.png Mitch Cohen getting Sandwiched! And i wonder if anyone know if its just the Another World release that has cut this great scene out, or is it just on the UK Prism Leisure version? Mitch Cohen also starred in the 4th Toxie flick, Citizen Toxie, as Lucifer, and as himself in both Make your own godamn movie, and Behind the scenes of Citizen Toxie. Speaking of actors from the Toxic Avenger series, whatever happened to the lovely Andree Maranda? The other actors who portrayed Sarah/Claire were nowhere near as beautiful and witty as Andree. My eyes may be deciving me, but i always thought Andree looked kinda like Sarah Michelle Gellar, as the Buffybot. img231.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dvdvolume7dg5.png Sarah/Andree Maranda img211.imageshack.us/my.php?image=buffybotdo6.jpgSarah Michelle Gellar/Buffybot In Tromas War there is a blind chick that looks also very much alike Sarah from the first Toxic Avenger. I guess its more of a funny parody or somehow a nod to the Toxic Avenger.

I saw this movie (as well as Nuke' Em High) for the first time about a week ago. The acting in Toxic Avenger may be the worst I have ever seen, almost every shot looks like it was only filmed once, and the story line is beyond ridiculous. That being said....I loved this movie! Probably something I could only watch every few years or so, but an instant cheesy 80's masterpiece.
I did like Nuke' Em High a little better though. I'll have to check out the sequels when I get a chance.

The Nuke 'Em High sequels aren't as good as the first one. Most people I talk to hate them. Their tone is a lot different than that of the first. They're more goofy & whatnot. Entertaining though...at least to me.

I only saw "Class of nuke em high 2 Subhumanoid Meltdown" once, but i remember i loved every second of it. Especially the "Theme" song that they keep playing over and over again troughout the film. Both that, and the film kinda remind me of another sequel "masterpiece" Howling 2 Your sister is a werewolf, where they kept playing the awesome Steve Parson song like every 5 second.
All in all i guess the first Nuke em high flick are better, but the sequel are in my eyes much better than any of the Toxic Avenger sequels.

I watched The Last Temptation of Toxie last night; hilarious especially the attack on corporate video-rental chains at the beginning. Of course sadly that scene is now rather dated, as the corporate video chains are pretty much all that's left.

Its been rumored sometime now that the director of Hot Tub Time Machine is going to do the remake of The Toxic Avenger. From Wikipedia: It has also been announced that Pink will direct the remake of 1984 cult classic The Toxic Avenger. Pink stated that "'The Toxic Avenger' is exactly what the country -- wait, that's not big enough -- what the world needs right now,".I like his attitude, The Toxic Avenger is absolutely what we need these days. Hope its done right and in old Troma fashion. If not Steve Pink as director, Jason Eisener (Hobo With A Shotgun) would be a fine choice. And yes, finally someone actually find and uploaded the whole Is This Love ballad from The Toxic Avenger!
