One of the most unsung, kickass action films of the Seventies, featuring two of the greatest tough guy actors in Hollywood - Lee Marvin and Gene Hackman who is called 'Mary Ann' in this! I just love Marvin's first confrontation with Hackman ('you eat guts!') and the way he rescues Sissy Spacek from a life of white slavery. Hackman's brother in this one is a real crazy prick, but for me, it's the mayhem at the end that seals it. Marvin with a machine gun taking on those farmboys in the cornfield, before hijacking that truck and having his final, bloody showdown with Mary Ann. If only Lee Marvin did more films like this!

I've got this one but havent' had a chance to watch it yet. You make a very good case for it.
"Here comes Lee Marvin! He's always drunk and violent!"

Watch it as soon as you can. You won't be disappointed and the beginning credits sequence is memorable.

I did this myself. A tribute to Lee Marvin's action prowess.

Oh man, I definitely have to see this. I've been a huge fan of Marvin ever since I first saw 'Point Blank' a few years ago and this just looks very badass. Kinda reminds me of 'Mr. Majestyk' in a sense; this is going right on the netflix queue.

There's also a suspenseful chase through a fairground that goes right into a corn field where Marvin and Sissy Spacek have to dodge a combine harvester. Classic!
