Charlie Brewster believes that his next door neighbour Jerry Dandridge is a vampire, He concludes that the monster must be destroyed. But since nobody believes his story he enlists the help of Peter Vincent, the vampire killer from his favorite horror TV show.I picked this up today as a blind purchase and was pleasantly surprised, it has some sharp intentional laughs and decent performance's. it`s probably one of the one best campy horror comedies to come out of the 1980`s. It also spawned a sequel, which is currently out of print and insanely expensive, £68 for a used DVD on Amazon, but thankfully someone`s uploaded it on Youtube. Overall, Fright Night`s well worth your time.

Fright Night is awesome. One of the best vampire movies I've seen. I've been a fan of this & the sequel since I was a kid. Once upon a time, I had both on VHS. I have the first on DVD but not the second. I can't believe FN II is worth so much on DVD. It's in full screen & the quality is shit from what I hear.
The soundtrack to FN is great as well.
Don't fuck with Jerry Dandridge!

Both of the Fright Night flicks are classics. The original is of course the best and Roddy McDowal is awesome as Peter Vincient. The second one was great as well and it was cool to see Brian Thompson in it. I've got the first on DVD and the second on VHS, I would like to grab 1 on VHS and I can just convert my VHS onto DVD for the second one.
On Movie Hole there was news of a remake that was cancelled, thank God for that.

These are both fantastic films. I must have been lucky because I picked up Fright Night II on DVD about two years ago for $10 at MovieStop.
Brian Thompson's character is hilarious. Eating bugs and citing their scientific name is something I plan to take up as a hobby.

I love the first movie, but have yet to see the second one, unfortunately FN II was never released on DVD in the u.k and like many of you have said its ridiculously expensive on R1. The Pal version VHS is on Amazon UK for £22.49 so thats pretty damn expensive too. I was really happy when i managed to pick this beauty up off Ebay for only £2.00. I'm really looking forward to seeing this one.

The artwork on that's pretty cool. If you liked the first Dutch, then you'll surely enjoy the second.
