Jack Carter (Michael Caine) arrives in Newcastle to learn more about his brother's recent death. While he's not meet with much understanding or sympathy, he sure knows how to make a bloody mess when not given the right answers. Get Carter is a raw and gritty gangster film that stars Michael Caine in the role of the hard hitting Jack Carter. The movie it self got a lot of bad reviews when it came out in 1971, but has in recent years been hailed as one of the best British films ever made. In 2000 came a remake with Sylvester Stallone, Mickey Rourke and Michael Caine.

Classic film, what I like a lot is how they don't try to make Carter a likeable pussy like in modern films, he's a tough bastard who does what he want's, when he want's.

A highly influential movie as it paved the way for the gritty '70s cop series The Sweeney and also The Long Good Friday, the classic gangster thriller starring Bob Hoskins as Harold Shand.
