Yeah, it would be a nice ending theme too.
My favorite part of the movie has to be where Robert Ginty takes a gruesome revenge on the gang that destroyed his friend.
"You fucking animals!"
"That nigger was my best friend, you motherfucker!"
Not the best quality, but man this scene is a classic.

How`s the quality and special features on the Blu Ray btw? I`ve only got one the many cheap DVD releases it has in the UK. It`s actually got a US Blu Ray release recently too with a completely different audio commentary, potential double dip for the super fans. Edit: Nice timing Captain! Clearly have the same film on the mind.

Edit: Nice timing Captain! Clearly have the same film on the mind. Great minds think alike! Wondering about getting this one on Blu too, have 2 VHS and 3-4 different DVD versions. The funny thing is that the one that say its Unrated or The Directors Cut is clearly cut, while the other are all uncut.

The Arrow Films blu ray has an absolutely impressive picture.
Just watched the edition with James Glickenhaus' commentary. He says that he had plans to work with Ginty again as well as more movies for Avco Embassy after The Soldier. He also talked about The Protector and his differences with Jackie Chan as well as the fact that he felt First Blood was the true sequel to The Exterminator. I also get the impression The Exterminator was filmed partly in either September or October 1979 because Glickenhaus mentioned that when they were filming the hospital scenes, Pope John Paul had paid a visit.

Oh that`s cool. I currently own the "Special Wide-screen Collectors Edition" from the guys that also released Frankenhooker and Maniac Cop, the only extra`s on there are trailers. I rewatched this yesterday and it`s still awesome, I love the scene with the meat grinder, nasty to say the least.

Don't watch this movie while eating spaghetti, especially the meat grinder scene.
I love the whole atmosphere in The Exterminator, its similar to movies like Death Wish 1-3, Basket Case, Frankenhooker, Maniac Cop 1-3, Vigilante and of course Taxi Driver.
Revenge films now days seems a bit to nice looking and lacks the gritty feeling of the old 70's and 80's movies. But I would highly recommend the British vigilante film Harry Brown (2009) with Michael Caine.

I have that Maniac Cop DVD you speak of. Is it the one that says something about a commentary with Bruce Campbell, William Lustig, and GARY Cohen? Who the fuck is Gary Cohen?

Maniac Cop is out on blu ray thanks to Arrow Films and it features an interview with Tom Atkins as well as another with Laurene Landon. I think James Glickenhaus also executive produced this movie and I've heard the picture quality of this is also excellent.
I first heard about The Exterminator in the mid-'90s and did anyone here used to get Impact (UK action movie magazine)? I remember a 1994 or '95 issue where they did a feature on a Glickenhaus movie called Time Master and they mentioned Robert Ginty throwing a gangster into a meat grinder in The Exterminator.

Arrow Video are really terrific by allowing small cult films a wider audience, they`ve also recently released Frankenhooker and even Red Scorpion on Blu Ray with tons of extras. There`s no prejudice towards the smaller films either. They even released big films like Dawn Of The Dead and Day Of The Dead which received tons of extras too.
Most of the films mention have all been released by the company I mentioned earlier Synapse with their "Special Collectors Editon`s."

I don't think The Exterminator was ever shown on terrestrial TV over here in the UK, although I could picture ITV showing it at a very late night slot which is what they used to do for gritty, violent thrillers and horror films, although I reckon they would have still edited The Exterminator (they would have cut out the beheading scene, Jefferson getting attacked, the meat grinding scene, when the dog is killed, when that girl is tortured and when Eastland sets that guy on fire).
Hopefully, Arrow Films will continue to release more action films and thrillers.

Or when some of the remaining Ghetto Ghouls beats up the old lady in the park.
The whole movie would have been butchered to pieces.
Never seen The Exterminator on Scandinavian television, but they used to send the sequel a couple of times uncut I think.

The Exterminator movies were probably shown on Sky Movies or The Movie Channel (satellite) in the late '80s and '90s over here in the UK. I know cable channel Bravo showed them in either the late '90s or early '00s.
In The Exterminator, they would have also cut out Eastland shutting off Jefferson's life support machine as well as when Dalton gets it in the end.

BodieCI5 - It was on the other night on the uncut season on either movies4men or the horror channel, I can't remember which. But it had all those scenes in it, so it was definitely the uncut version.
"You want da sheets...?"

Maybe they should remake it, with Chuck Norris as Eastland. It'd be really cool to see him riding around and giving the villains a good talking to to show them the error of their ways.
