One of Dolph's greatest action movies ever, as far as I'm concerned. The tough and cold mercenary Warchyld (Dolph Lundgren), is working for the man who took care of his war training & upbringing, the greedy General Ruechang. Ruechang is planning to take over the country by marrying Princess Halo, but Halo discovers that Ruechang killed her father to gain more power than he had working for the King, so she decides to run away. Warchyld is the one who has to bring her back to Ruechang, but the one thing no one counted on happens... Warchyld and Halo falls in love, and together they take on the forces of Ruechang...Although it was made in 1999, it has the complete spirit of 80s action and features Dolph killing roughly 50 people total. It begins with an explosive assault on a rebel compound where Dolph kills around 17 people, yet I think its the worst action scene in the whole film. Later, there's a part where he wastes 6 bad guys with a pistol whilst riding a horse in slow motion. Total badass. The villain, Cary Tagawa, is pretty ruthless and slices throats with a katana. He also has a major showdown with Dolph at the end, where he gets his ass handed to him by Dolph's high-flying legs. (SPOILER) Then he dies in a novelty death like an 80s action villain would--throat sliced wide-open, then spin-kicked into a huge box. Talk about brutal. Bridge of Dragons was directed with excellence by popular DTV martial arts director Isaac Florentine, more recently notified for his work on Undisputed 2 and The Shepherd: Border Patrol. He does a great job directing shootouts and not that bad with martial arts, this being his 6th film. I gotta admit, this is probably my favorite Dolph Lundgren film, aside from Punisher and Red Scorpion--it kicks ass. [glow=red,4,300] 9.2/10 - DOCTOR'S ORDERS[/glow]

Sounds like a movie that I would get off on. I have to check it out someday.

funny thing about this movie--there's no bridge; there's no dragons. Nothing relating to the title; but it still rules.

well of course "dragons" is meant in the metaphorical sense of the word as in "warriors" with martial arts skills: the love triangle Dolph, Valerie Chow, Cary Tagawa... And a turning point of the story took place on a bridge in the original screenplay (very different from the film), before the climax...

I bought this dirt cheap from a local used DVD store. One of the best expenditures of $1.99 ever.
It's awesome how all the military vehicles have "666" emblazoned on them, just to remind everyone that they are the bad guys.

Cary Tagawa's a mean bastard in this movie. That guy was born to play the villain. Hell, he already played one in Mortal Kombat and Showdown in Little Tokyo, to name a few.
I still don't understand why this film is unpopular with a portion of Dolph's fanbase. It's full of badass action and lots of kicks from Dolph, which is something we don't see much of in his films. Even the simple sound effects of grabbing poles and stepping on the ground have the sound of action!

I still don't understand why this film is unpopular with a portion of Dolph's fanbase. The movie has its qualities but it's cheap and cheesy. It also doesn't look like it was made in 1998, plus by that time we had had so many post-apocalyptic movies already. Had we seen it a decade earlier it would have played much better... I know it had lots of issues during filming, it was the first Nu Image production shot in Bulgaria, and the script was not the one Isaac and Dolph signed for so they fought a lost cause with the producers and it also explains why the story is weird mix of like Mad-Max meets Robin Hood etc...

to be honest I never figured this one to be a post-apocalyptic film. I thought it was set around the time of post-'Nam. Makes more sense and makes it more likeable.

Just watched this movie and thought it was good. Dolph kills lot of people and the end fight brings back memories from Showdown in Little Tokyo Cary Tagawa is always great villain, because he looks so goddamn evil Those horny soldiers in the woods made me laugh for some reason.Maybe it's the faces that only their mother could love: ''Fancy a shag, dear?'' ''You ready for some buggering, luv'' And what about the woman, that always seems to get tied up: ''My lord, release me!'' It's a good movie, could be more violent though ;D

Cary Tagawa is always great villain, because he looks so goddamn evil yeah but whether it's in BOD or SILT I always thought he's unfortunately too way short to be matching Dolph as the main bad guy

still doesn't look very good, the katana fight in SILT was very badly choreographed (doesn't really look like genuine in terms of Japanese sword fighting) when it could actually have been awesome...

Lester. If anything, it's a guilty pleasure at best with some damn good action scenes to watch. 'Dragons' is one step up, with the "i'm on break" guy from Road House.
